Brosamer & Wall is seeking Summer 2020 Engineering interns, interns with related degrees or those with a desire to work in the heavy civil construction industry.  We have positions available in Walnut Creek, Bakersfield, Concord, and Galt.

  • Interaction with Project Managers and/or Project Field Staff
  • Field Engineering Tasks
  • Review of project plans to generate quantity takeoffs
  • Prepare Work Plans, manage and track costs
  • Safety, survey, and quality control tasks as required
  • Work with estimating, scheduling and CAD software

Prepare Request for Information (RFI’s), Submittals, Correspondence, etc.

Document control, project controls, etc.

Track and enter quantities.

Interact with owner representatives.

Actual tasks depend on the project assigned, each project is unique and provides different types of challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Desire a career in heavy civil construction management

Project Manager, Heavy Highway/Infrastructure in Sacramento, CA

Skills and Experience

Minimum of 5 years project management experience in the heavy highway public marketplace.

Verifiable PM experience in heavy highway structure construction is a must.

BS in civil engineering or construction management is mandatory; PEs are preferred but not mandatory.

Full responsibility for multiple public work projects ongoing simultaneously.

PM needs to be “stand alone” and able to accept responsibility for all aspects of managing a construction project from start to finish.

Preparing required submittals, submittal management, RFl management.

Project scheduling including subcontractor and vendor scheduling.

Management, estimating and project cost accounting.

Client relations.

Claims and claim management.

Administration and scheduling of field personnel, job costing, and field engineering.

Completion of Daily project diaries- and its dissemination.

Management of projects throughout the Western United States. Candidate must be willing to travel.
